Marie Noelle Rosa is joining Progress Vancouver's slate of candidates for City Council.
Mark Marissen, mayoral candidate for Progress, weighed in on the announcement. "I'm excited to be running beside Marie Noelle. She will be an incredible asset to our Progress Vancouver team."
A single mother with a daughter in the Francophone School District, Marie Noelle learned Mandarin at Jiaotong university in Shanghai. She works in education and is a member of CUPE-15.
Marie Noelle's experience with transitional housing shaped her keen interest in supporting the needs of everyone facing gender-based violence.
"I relied on services offered in the Downtown Eastside during a difficult period of my life," added Marie Noelle, crediting her interest in working closely with vulnerable residents of the Downtown Eastside as well as the organizations working to tackle the crisis that we face.
"I'm thrilled to join Mark Marissen and Progress Vancouver. I look forward to working together for a safe and thriving Vancouver, where everyone can enjoy decent and affordable housing."
